Summary: This article is about the horrible job that Herbert H. Lehman High School is doing in teaching the students, they got an F! According to the article, one of the main reasons why they got this is because only 20% of all the students are passing the Regents exams. The other reason is because the teachers don't even trust Dr. Janet Sarceno, the principal, who is under investigation by the DOE because it's rumored that she passed students who failed the courses so they would get a higher graduation rate.
Reaction: I think it's really sad how they're fouling Lehman's name. I'm sure that if he was alive he probably would be ashamed because of this. I mean, sure he'd be happy to have a high school named after him, but not an unsuccessful one.
Perla, I couldn't agree with you more. There are lots of principals that are also forced to pass kids on to the next grade even though they fail during the year, because they get "2s" on state tests... and that is unfortunately good enough most of the time. Grrrrrr.
ReplyDeletei agree to because the princeples almost do that all the time so it could look like a good school so students could choose it on there highschool choices thats why some kids wen they go there they want to transfer to a differentg highschool.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with all of u i think that the school deserves it because schools arent soposed to do that that is just plain cruel i am never going to that school
