Facebook, freedom and thin-skinned bosses

This article talks about a Connecticut worker that got fired for posting a negative thing about his/her employer and got the employer annoyed. Now the people that had private speeches, they are now saying have freedom speech about losing their job on how they are expressing their thoughts or feelings away from their work. Then another worker from Alabama in 2004 got fired only because her Republican boss didn't like her John Kerry bumper sticker on her car in the factory parking lot. John Kerry is a Democratic Senator. Also, another worker got fired for talking trash about her boss in facebook. Finally, the article says that if you have a job don't say anything about your expressive life, thoughts or feelings that could get you fired.

REACTION
My reaction is that if you have a job and you like it but you dislike your boss don't post neagtive thoughts in facbook about your boss because you don't know if a employer or your boss could have a facebook and saw what you wrote about him/her you could get fired very fast.

  1. You will learn this later on this year, but part of your rights as an American is the "freedom of speech," which means you have the right to say or write your opinions.

Why should you get fired just for expressing your opinion on facebook?
