A Volcano Erupts

Ohhh Noess! Mount Merapi (Merapi meaning fire) erupted about a month ago in Indonesia. Mount Merapi is the southwest most active volcano. The first eruption took place on October 26.Then many times after that.More then 30 people died many injured.About 70,000 villagers were evacuated from around Merapi's slopes.Scientists warn that the eruption could last for several more weeks. Volcano people Safari Dwiyono has spent more than 15 years studying Merapi.He said that there's no way of knowing when the fiery bursts will stop. Meanwhile, officials in other parts of the country are dealing with the after affects of a deadly tsunami. As of November 2, about 400 hundred people died.

-what i think about this-

4oo hundred people died that's a lot plus all the people that died during the volcanoe. This is sad. But if they know that that volcano is the most active then why are there people even around it. it makes no sense to me. Just stay away and don't be around then maybe you have a 100% chance of not dieing from a volcano eruption. Gezz so many people alive they dont no where to live anymore.

Travolta cuts short Australia visit as wife goes into labour

Summary: This article is about John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston. John was on his way to australia but had to fly back from sydney when he heard about his wife going into labour. John is a celebrity ambassador qantas but the spokesman that represented him said he is going back to the states because his wife's gone into labour. So the ASP respected it and accepted it.

Reaction: I think this story is inspiring because to fly all the way across the world and then fly back for your wife's pregnancy truly takes dedication. I know i would have done the same thing for my wife when I grow up.

Joke on boat leads to four deaths

Summary:This article was about 4 men just playing around and turning up dead.They were on a boat on a Southern Idaho reservior.The bodies were found Monday evining exactly where they fell into the water.The cops started searching on sunday when a little kid called 911.Their idea of playing around is one man standing in front of the boat and another man pushing them into the water.The person that pushed the guy in the water didnt kno that he couldnt swim.They all had the choice of putting on the life jackets but they didnt.The 4 victims were 57 yr old Darrel Shappart.26 yr old Jared Hale, His bro Aaron Haley(30) and Stephen Verbeck also 30.They were boating on the waterway sunday along with 5 children under the age of 9.

Arizona voters approve medical marijuana measure

The main idea of this story is that officials in Maricopa County decided to pass a law, that approves people to use medical marijuana. Officials also specified the patients who were allowed to use this...legal drug. the following people who could use m.m (medical marijuana), are people who suffers from cancer, AIDS, and many other illnesses. 50.1% of the votes said "yes" to the idea if having m.m. Yet they did not want to give marijuana to criminals who just wanted to take drugs. Ever since 1996, 14 states decided to have this law.

Reaction: i personally think that this law is a terrible idea because people could eventually become addicted to medical marijuana. I really don't know how marijuana relieves stress or something like that, but this drug could shorten their life span.

Five killed in California crash involving 12 motorcycles

Summary: When a car and 12 motorcycles crashed together, 6 people got injured and 5 died. This happened last Saturday. The police said that they are searching for another car that had crashed with the motorcycles too but left right away so they wont get caught. A honda tried to pass the motorcycles but then another car which is called a dodge avenger, tried to avoid hitting the honda accidentaly crashed with the motorcycles. One of the passengers in the avenger died as well as 4 of the motorcycle drivers.
Reaction: First, why would the honda try to pass the motorcycles and secondly, why would the avenger be driving so fast even though its in a highway? Driver Who Mowed Kid Blames The Parents, Sues

A driver who is serving man slaughter charges for hitting 14 year old boy Matthew Kenneys blames the parents for their sons death. He blames them because they let their son ride his bike in the street without a helmet. He insist that he was driving the speed limit, but that Matthew and his friends were jumping their bikes off a ramp into a two lane road in the street. Plus he says the weather conditions were wet and foggy. Matthew suffered internal injuries, broken bones and lacerations. He was declared brain dead the next day. The driver has five drunken arrests since the late 1990's on his record, in which four resulted in convictions. He was not charged with drunk driving in the Kenny case.

Reactin: Wow it's bad enough he ran over their 14 year old with a car, but then to blame the parents and sue them. He can't just blame the parents for their sons death, he should have been driving with more cuation espescially in those weather conditions. It's good he is serving 10 years in prison. Also even if Matthew was wearing a helmet I dont think it would have protected his head from the impact of the car. But he will be missed by his parents and two brothers, ages 2 and 13.

Jane Fonda Has a Breast Cancer Scare

summary- Jane Fonda had discovered that she had breast cancer. A tumor was discovered a few weeks ago during a routine checkup.The cancer was found non-invasive and Fonda had a procedure earlier this week to remove the tumor. she said "She's 100 percent cancer-free,” says her rep.
reaction-I think it was a good thing that they fond out that she had breast cancer.

Mayor Bloomberg's daughter dumped by boyfriend days after fall from horse

Summary: This article is about Michael Bloomber's daughter getting dumped by her boyfriend shortly after her accident in a horse. It explains her suprisement to this action of the guy. She says that she can't believe it and that she thought he was a nice guy, but in my opinion, him dumping her doesn't make him any better or worst.

Summary: I think that she needs to wake up because the fact that she's a billionare;s daughter doesn't mean that life is gnna be easier with her...Not everything is pink! && this is just another example of people not being who you think they are...happens all the timee! Maybe she thinks she's not an ordinary girl and that things like these won't/wouldn't happen to her.
