Officials rescue 11-year-old girl and dog who fell through ice in Suffolk County

Summary ----> This article is about an 11 year old girl Sarah Thalhammer was walking with her friends puppy and all of a sudden the puppy broke loose from the leash. The dog then headed in water. Then she went after him until she almost drowned in the water. The water was up to her neck and she was yelling for help. A person nearby heard and quickly called the cops. A few minutes later streets were filled with police cars , ambulance , and fire trucks. Mathew DeMatteo a police officer pulled Sarah out the water. Then a piece of ice cracked and now the water was up to their waist. Firefighter Chris Gonzalez Threw a rope and pulled the both of them out. The dog was rescued too. Then the both of them were taken to the hospital for observation.

Reaction ---- > It was amazing of the police officer to go save Sarah and then they were both in danger. Sarah should of never went to the ice because it cracked. She should of called the police for them to rescue the dog.

  1. I think thiz is a great story and not only because it was a child but because they also saved the animal. Many people in this world think that animals are nothing and only people are important but im glad this happened to show people that animals also have rights to live !
